I’m moving my zwave stuff over from a very old Vera 3 setup. I have several Eaton 9501 switches. I can get them all to pair but they just show up as “unsported device.” I’ve tried the Eaton drivers and the generic Zwave.
Has anyone got these to work?
From your post in that thread, it is my understanding that with the Generic Z-Wave Switch driver, you can control them digitally, but physical changes at the switch are not reported back to the hub. Is this correct?
If my understanding is correct, have you setup the Z-Wave Poller app as was indicated in the original thread that you posted to?
Thank you for your help and Sorry I’m not being clear.
I can pair the switches. On my device list they show up as unsupported and I cant control them. I have poller app setup and working with another device. The 9501 switch doesn’t show up in the poller app. I can send a info request to the device and get the data back.
Change the driver to "generic z-wave switch". And hit the configure button on the device page.
Thanks again. I can't seem to find that setting or how to change the driver. I've checked the community forum and I'm not having luck with my searches. I've deleted one of my switches and included it manually and using the "Find by device type" and selecting a generic zwave switch driver. Both times it ends up the same with the zwave info screen showing "SPECIFIC_TYPE POWER_SWITCH_BINARY
Eaton"
Ideas?
Devices tab, select this device.
From there, you are looking for Type dropdown box in the Device Info tab. (bottom left of my screenshot below)
Thank you! I selected ALMOST everything on that page. I kept thinking Yep, It's a device not a scene and moving on. It works now. Many thanks to you guys for the help! The community for the old controller was great but there were so few people a response would take week if ever.
Thanks again, It works and the wife is happy again!
