[DRIVER] Zooz ZAC36 Titan Water Valve Actuator

Yeah, adjusting the open/close angles is a great feature and it does indeed work (I needed to do it on both of my Titans), but I always forget to document anything helpful whenever I wrestle with it... It's always just futzy trial-&-error to finally get it right. But I'm grateful, since it is a nice capabiity.

The ZAC36 firmware is 2.10.
All settings, both numeric and non-numeric, are already at the defaults.

I'll try re-calibration; if that doesn't help, I'll try small adjustments to the close angle. It looks like the range of values is 1-10, default is 4, and units are % of angle. Since the full rotation is 90 degrees, I'm guessing 1% is pretty close to 1 degree of rotation.

I will report back after doing this.

Re-running calibration did not help.
I then tried different values of Manual Calibration Offset from 1 to 9; none of those values had any effect. After closing the valve, it still reports "open".
When it's moving, it properly reports "working".
When it's open, it properly reports "open".
I've done the factory reset twice, so it doesn't seem that will help.
I'll contact Zooz support and see if they can help.

I'll also point out that after performing the calibration, the driver DOES report "closed"; but as soon as it is opened, it always reports "open" even when closed again.

I am running Zwave JS on my test hub with a 2.10 ZAC36, working fine here. I am updating my hub and then going to switch back to ZIP and see what happens there.

Just in case this sheds any light on the problem, here is the trace log after sending the command to close three times in a row, waiting 20 seconds or so between each command:

As you can see, the valve definitely "knows" it is already closed, as it does not run its motor and does not change status to "working".

So even though the valve knows it is closed, it keeps reporting "open" as its status, to the driver.

Its odd you are not getting the notification reports along with the switchbinary. Mine was sending both. One last thing, try doing a refresh after it is closed, see what gets reported and see if you get the notification event for the open/close.

You will probably have to open a ticket with Zooz for further troubleshooting.

Here my logs on ZIP when closing (from opened). It sends the final notification when it does the double beep beep when it is all done.

Doing a refresh after closing the valve does not change the reporting of it being "open".
Nor does it trigger a notification event.
However, here I have closed the valve, and there IS a notification event:

Then I refreshed:

It still reports "open".

Zooz support has responded and has asked me for a screenshot of all the settings (Preferences). So I've sent that and we'll see what they say.

The thing I find interesting is that after re-calibration, when the valve was closed again (cal starts with valve closed and ends with valve closed), the driver interface was showing "closed" as the valve status.

But after opening it and closing it again, it continues to only ever show "open".
Very odd...
