Devices not responding after C7 to C8 Migration

Yes @Tony, C7 was unplugged...

@jtp10181, both hubs updated before the migration!

Thanks for coming to help, @Tony and @jtp10181.

The behavior is really odd...maybe the hub had a few too many caipirinhas?

@danabw, it will be a pleasure to make as many caipirinhas as the person who helps me can handle! :tropical_drink::tropical_drink::tropical_drink:

It may be time for this...

@danabw, I'll wait a bit more to see if there is some software solution. I bought my C8 last month when I was at US and ordered it from Amazon. I may easily send it back, but to receive a reposition here I should pay around US$ 200.00 in taxes...

Wow...that would cut into your fun budget way too much! :scream:

Automation devices are extremely expensive here, so we use to buy zigbee devices from China through Ali Express, and pray to not be taxed at the customs.

My C7 I paid almost US$ 400.00 because 99% percent of the packages coming from US are taxed, what don't happens to packages coming from China. So, if I need to send my C8 back, I'll pay at least US$ 200.00, more probably an amount circa US$ 260.00.

Automation here in Brazil it's not that common just for this reason...

Our life is hard here: besides our women, the customs seems to be against automation!

Can you PM me the hub id? I can check the engineering logs on the hub.
How many Zigbee devices do you have?

Just positioning: @gopher.ny isolated and solved the bug trough the last firmware update, everything is working now.

I would like to publicly thank Victor for the fast response and solution!

I'm having exactly the same problem. Just upgraded from a C7 to a C8 with the migration tool. I have mostly Z-Wave devices, which all work fine on the new C8, but the 3 Zibgee devices do not. Yes the old hub is unplugged, I have upgraded to the latest C8 firmware.

When I look in the Zigbee details settings, I see all 3 devices, they 2 of them seem to be communicating - but I cannot control them. (2 of them are stuck on and I can't turn them off).

For Zigbee Try resetting the devices and put them into pair mode and then pair with the hub again. They will drop right into the same slot so no harm done.

Also check your power setting for Zigbee, recommended is 8 (same as C7).

Unfortunately 2 of these devices are 3 stories in the air, and I need to rent a scissor-lift to get to them... re-pairing is not easy.

(The power level is set to 8)

You could try powering off the C8, then power up the C7, see if you can control the Zigbee devices again. If it works from the C7 still, you could try re-doing the migration (take a new cloud backup) and see if the zigbee devices will play nice this time?

Update: I thought the text in the notes about having to wait 24 hours for the ZigBee devices to find the new channel sounded crazy,... 2 days later, presto, they are magically working again.

It IS crazy... but that doesn't stop it from being True.
