[DEPRECATED] Kasa Plug, Switch, and Bulb integration

Appreciate it Dave, feel free to leave it if you have other things to do, I can look into it more myself "tomorrow"....

Set up a trace at the three error methods, then started EM function on my HS115. Set poll interval to 5 seconds. Will run for an hour or so and see if any errors generate. Will then induce a comms error and see what happens.

Note: I am using Hub version 2.3.0.124.

Thorough as always, thanks Dave. Might be a few hours before I respond.... So no pressure to come up with something.....

Looks like the plugs are contributing to elevated load...though I'm not sure about the accuracy of the readings.... might check that out briefly....

Suggest you upgrade your hub version and start the log over. I will revert my hub to 121 for further testing. My performance is normal (<< 1% per device).

Will do

Am wondering if it is a network issue, downloading 124 is painfully slow.... Youtube music also seems slow to change songs as well on my laptop..... But I will persist, want to only test one thing at a time....

It could be.

  1. Check a device for Comms Error. (I didn't see this in the log).

Neither did I, nothing in the logs or in the attributes of the devices that I checked (2-3 plugs)

Whatever it is, it's not normal, a C-7 running at 78 degrees C

I chose to reboot the C-4 mid extraction of 124, it was getting up to 90 degrees C.

DISABLE all the Kasa devices and then see how the hub performs.

The C-7 is just coming back up, I'll do that on there. The C-4 is back up and mid-update to 124, so will let it go with that process.

Most seems to be set to 30 min polling, but I saw this on a couple of them.... Is it something I should follow up?

Things do seem to have quietened down after getting the C-4 updated to 2.3.0.124. I have set everything to 30 min polling and am about to start updating the C-7.

I am starting to think restrictions may be being set for the C-7..... I have had some strange Internet speed tests from one of my rpi's that magically came good. Wondering whether the C-7 has been sacrificed in the process in terms of the bandwidth it now has....Not my area of expertise.... that's for sure....

It does feel like my Kasa devices are just collateral damage in some other issue....

It is an old state that is no longer relevant. I recommend running save preferences after each update; however, for 6.4.3 to 6.5.0 the only critical device is the dimming switch (which implemented new capabilities).

Both the C-4 and C-7 are still running hot with high load. I am thinking I should restart my router..... Will leave it for another couple of minutes, but that is my next approach. The C-7 is only 21% through the download of the 124 update after what feels like 15-20 mins.

My update back to 124 download took less that 1 minute! It could be your router/gateway or it could be a VERY BUSY HUB.

I am going offline for a while. All testing on two hubs has not indicated any errors nor problems. I think your hub database somehow got out of whack. But, that is only my thought.
