Dear god please a simple solution for my pool temp

Mostly 99%. the multipurpose sensor is absolutely the same, including the shape of the sensor and the box itself

Well lookie here...
https://www.amazon.com/ECOWITT-Thermometer-Temperature-Freezers-Refrigerators/dp/B0991ZMZT9/

I had already purchased one of these
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TVM6S8F/
plus one of these
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CQ249TR/,
took the temperature sensor out of its case and placed it in a weatherproof box, but this may be a better solution. I wonder if @sburke781 can adapt the Ecowitt driver to receive these?

According to points 4 and 5 in the description of the EcoWitt Pool sensor it can be paired with the EcoWitt gateway, so I would expect if you have a gateway already the HE drivers I look after should be able to receive and display the data. That is a requirement for any of the sensors from what I can tell, they communicate with the gateway or equivalent device like some LCD displays, then it is the gateway device that distributes the data, including sending it to HE if you configure it that way.

I guess my point was that there is an explicit list of supported sensors in the Wifi Gateway Driver:

This new sensor (WN34BL) would need to be declared and identified as a temperature sensor for Hubitat to process the data. I may just have to buy one and see what it does.

Ah, right, I see now. Show's I am still getting up to speed on these drivers

I can't imagine any real issue but can take a look over the next week and let you know.

Ya i added the code for.the last one. Not very.complicated just search for.that to see where to.make changes.

should just work looking at the code the model wn34 is already in the code and the 34s is the soil temp and the 34l is the water temp.. so it should already work transparently.

Since last year I have finally tossed ST for my pool temp using the old Fibaro contacts and DS18B20.
I have converted to the Fibaro Smart Implant for my pool and brewing sensors.
Still use the DS18B20 but everything is HE now and working with my WC pistons.
The pool received a 3M probe so the control box is now inside the garage; Smart Implants need a power supply, AC and a box.

Mine just arrived and you are correct, although it registers as a WH34.

My Sharptools spa temperature display with two double vac sealed Samsung motion/temperature sensors. Works great!

Seal a meal bag. Vaccum tight. Wouldn't even need the tupperware

Yup.
Double vac seal. Been in the water for months.

While that's a good solution my tummy wouldn't stand for it :joy:
I have to use a probe to get to the thermocline. It's 35 C on top boy but it's not in the middle and my man-fat doesn't like surprises!

OK
