"Current Products" Zigbee e-wand - Driver Support?

Hi everyone,

I just received my e-wand Zigbee Gen 2 units, and I'm looking for the best driver.

UPDATE: Now natively supported in platform version 2.3.0.111. Functionality described here: "Current Products" Zigbee e-wand - Driver Support? - #62 by shane1

I currently have it working as a Generic Zigbee Dimmer, but this doesn't provide the ability to control the individual stop, top close, open and bottom close capabilities.

I have this info from Hubitat Device Details:

  • endpointId: 01
  • application:
  • softwareBuild: 00000018
  • inClusters: 0000,0001,0003,0004,0005,0006,0008,0020,0102,0B05,FC10
  • outClusters: 0003,0019
  • model: E-Wand
  • firmwareMT: 1263-0050-00000018
  • manufacturer: Current Products Corp

And logs when opening (on) and closing (off):

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Shane.

Wow - these are totally cool! @mike.maxwell - adding my voice to request a driver for these.

Here’s some video of them working. This is with the generic zigbee dimmer driver on Hubitat. “On” opens them, “Off” closes them downwards.

Very nice! And your house is beautiful!

If you care to lend me one of these we can add a decent driver for it.

holy smokes. i'm so glad they made this. i've been contemplating getting motors to feed into my blinds to control them. hopefully the price can drop and not be as hard on the wallet

This is awesome. They work with corded blinds, too: Converting a Corded Blind for E-Wand Installation - YouTube

I have all plantation shutters in my house, so I can't use these. But they look really cool.

Hi Mike.

I’m in Australia and as they don’t officially ship here yet I paid quite a bit to ship them to me - getting one back overseas would be an extra expense my financial controller might not approve

If you’re in Australia or there is someone on the team that is that can do what’s required I’m happy to send one over.

If not - is there anything I can do to give you what you need?

Thanks,
Shane.

yeah, shipping to and from AU to US is stupid expensive for some reason.
All of us Hubitators are located in the US.

Damn. Ok. I’ve sent an email to the e-wand contact email address with a link to here. Will see if I get anything back.

Do you need physical access to the product, or would it be enough if I setup my backup Hubitat hub in a dedicated and isolated VLAN, linked an e-wand to it and gave you VPN access to the hub?

Thanks,
Shane.

in general yes.

wow! love this product, nice find @shane1 !!

but...ouch! AUD170+ per blind is far too expensive IMO (assuming around USD30 to ship a kit of 3 to Australia) ... ridiculous even. @shane1 is that close to what you paid all up?

Yeah pricey and I hope they come down over time.

But I like my blinds and to replace them with something like IKEA’s units would have been even more per blind overall, and they don’t fit my windows.

Battery powered is key for me as well. Other options (beyond IKEA) all needed wired power which I either can’t run or it would be even more dramatically expensive.

couldn't agree more with every part of that
all my venetians are cord operated too, which adds another $14 or so per blind to get the conversion kit. :moneybag: :moneybag:

Just in case anybody is interested. I just got a response and they do ship to Canada.

I might have to spend some money now. :frowning:

Anyone in the US able to get one to Mike? I haven’t heard back from their sales team yet.

Next payday maybe I'll get one and send it to @mike.maxwell . Mike can you PM me an address?
