All of the sudden, I can't reach our hub outside of our house. I log in and it shows I have one active hub on my account, but when I try to connect, it says the page can't be loaded. The hub (from inside our network) keeps throwing error notifications that the cloud connection is unavailable.
We also have suddenly had issues with google assistant not being able to reach hubitat despite the internet connection being up and both being connected to the network (green light on and accessible by local address).
Our GPS based rules are failing as well. Two different phones have been working with very few issues for over a year. Now, my wife's phone will show she's out of the geo fence on her app, but the hub will show she's still present at the house 100% of the time. Mine is more intermittent and works about 50/50. I've checked the usual issues on the phones (battery restriction/running in background, location updates all the time, make app inactive, etc.). Both phones have the correct app settings to allow constant location updates, but anything remote doesn't work. The app doesn't get any updates from the hub either. The app will show the last mode when we were present rather than switching to away or other modes. Dashboards (local and remote) are also inaccessible.
I just learned that our z wave door lock didn't update today and would not let our maid in this morning. I had it set to enable a code for today but apparently that didn't transmit either.
Is my internet/wireless going out? I've verified that my subscription to remote access is active. I can access our camera system and google home from outside of the house so I know our internet connection is up and accessible. Our hub is registered to my hubitat account. I've been through settings and just don't see anything that would be a reason for it not to work.
C7 Hub is updated to the latest version. 2.3.9.193
Dang...every time I think I've included every step, I miss one. I've rebooted several times over the last few weeks. I'll try it again. Hopefully an update coming soon will help.
Yeah. That's exactly what happened. When I checked for updates under settings, it said it was the most current. After reboot, it's showing the update. Doing that now.
I update to the latest (.196 on my C-7) & had the same issues, so I reloaded the previous platform (.187) and it all started working normally again....That's where I am right now.
I had rebooted several times, and the cannot connect issue kept coming back (ver .196).
I am running two hubs, one at home and one in my holiday home. I am cautious of updating the one in the holiday home (C-/), as it has critical things on it and is 1.5 hours away and not as easily accessible during winter and cloud connection is a must.
I am currently running 2.3.9.166, but was looking to update to .193, but then .196 was available, and seems to have some bugs.
Ideally I would be able to pick a reliable/proven intermediate version to update to, so I am a fast follower but not a beta tester.
Is there a way to do this? I have been searching the forum, but not finding information about this and I was thinking there might be a way to do this via an endpoint URL or something? Is there a list of all endpoint URLs available (also searched for this but couldn´t find).
No you can only update to the current build or roll back to one of the last 3 builds you installed.
If you do not have a way to remotely power cycle your hub I would stay where you are.
Somewhere above that version you are on there was a bunch if cloud disconnect issues and it seems to be 99% fixed now but a couple people have still reported issues. The only way to get the hub back online for remote admin is a reboot.
Hmmm actually, if you have a VPN to get into your remote LAN, that would work too in this case if it did go offline from the cloud. The hub is still reachable on LAN just not via remote admin.
Thanks for the information. I do have VPN, I also have a wifi outlet powering the hub, so I am able to reset power if needed. I have learned from experience to have multiple angles of attack, therefore I am also very cautious when it comes to updates. Seems I will stay with this version for some time longer.
If you were going to update, the current version .196 is probably the best to go to anyway, I don't think going to anything in between would give you much of an advantage. For a remote hub though, I would only update if you see something in the changes that you want to take advantage of.
I had this issue last week. I had to reset the network using the little button on the bottom of the hub. hold it down for 10 seconds. Havent had the issue since..
Can you press the network reset button on the bottom of the hub for 7 seconds using a toothpic or a paperclip? It will be the only round hole out of all the square holes.
Oh man, now i’m realizing why my remote access wasn’t working at my second location. Wow, this is a big deal now… I can’t access my second location at all.
