C8 with latest update. Trying to pair a Zooz ZSE44 a ZEN37 and a Jasco in wall sensor/dimmer. None will pair.
Using the factory power supply and can access the system with app or browser. Connected via Ethernet. Units in the system work fine so there is good communication.
Region is US-LR - 908.4 Mhz, 916 Mhz
What have I done?
Factory reset all units many times. Excluded the units many times. Restarted the C8 with advanced settings and rebuilding the database.
Tried Smart Start and manual. It actually communicated for a short time but never completed the bootstrapping.
Brought the units within 3 feet of the C8.
Unplugged C8 for 20 minutes and restarted it. No change.
All these same model units pair just fine at my vacation home with the C8 there.
Getting lots of ghosts now. It's alway about ghosts. Can never get rid of them.
Do a shutdown. Remove power from your C-8. Wait 30 seconds, and then reconnect power. Then exclude the devices, making sure you get a message in the logs that an unknown device was excluded. Finally add the devices.
Unlikely, based on your description of existing devices working.
Get a screenshot of the z-wave settings page. The topology map is not necessary. There are browser extensions (like this one for Chrome) that will take a screenshot of an entire page.
You have a USB stick paired to the hub and cannot remove them using PC Controller? That typically works 100% of the time without much of an issue, once you get it setup.
You could possibly switch your hub over to the new ZWave JS gateway and try to remove them that way, it may work from there. Then switch back to ZIP as soon as its done. If you have a regular C8 (not a pro) you need to use a special endpoint to force the switch to JS, the button is hidden.
There isn't an easier way, not due to Hubitat, but due to the rules that Hubitat has had to follow to sell a certified Z-Wave hub. As he noted, the process @jtp10181 linked to typically is 100% successful in removing ghosts.
Hubitat has added a new Z-Wave option to their C8-Pro hubs, called ZWaveJS, which they will have much more control over and won't require the USB stick process to remove any ghosts that may appear. The first release of ZWavejS is availble on the C8-Pro hubs now. There are still some issues being worked through for a subset of users, but many find ZWaveJS to be an improved Z-Wave experience.
If you dont have any subscriptions you can do a full reset from the diagnostic tool. That is basically a factory reset.
If you have subscriptions, you would have to do a Soft Reset followed by a reset on Zwave and Zigbee radios, all separate resets. That is close to a full reset but it preserves subscriptions and the hub registration.
You will have to set up everything from scratch after doing that. You could load a database local backup to get your apps and automation back. BUT to add zwave devices back after a full reset and database restore there is a whole other special process to avoid conflicts. If you just start pairing z-wave devices it will create a whole new mess. Zigbee devices are easy and will drop back into place.
IMO, switching the hub to Zwave JS and then back to ZIP to remove some ghosts would be LESS complicated than the above.
I do have a lock I can't seem to make go away. By all appearances it is connected to the system. Recently I replaced all my locks with the Kwikset 620's and I might have one around that is still powered up and transmitting. I just can't find in right now.
Most of my ghosts were the locks. They have always been difficult to pair. I have found that I can only pair one lock and then let the system do its thing for 24 hours and I even do a reboot before adding another lock.
