allegedly a 1 second press does a reset
LOL...saw your pic after I posted mine. Twins...
New favorite device feature name: sticky poke thing
Except mine is upside-down!
Huh, I never noticed that other button... My earlier search efforts on Google just said to hold down the main button for 10 seconds to reset. That ends in a (seemingly) encouraging blinky sequence.
I'll have to try the secret button option too - why not.
OK, learned something new today, hadn't realized they have a reset as well as the re-pair button. If one of my Hue outdoor sensors falls off again I'm going to do a full reset and then re-pair. Go nuclear on it.
I bricked a sensor messing with that other button, to reset hold the setup button until it blinks green, about 10 seconds. After that single press to have it start join mode.
Made no difference to me. I only did the factory reset when the sticky poke thing didn't work.
I'ma gonna listen to Mike. All the rest of you are noisy bumpkins.
Probably your best bet to be honest.
Ha, @brad5 -- love it! Thanks @mike.maxwell -- I'll avoid the secret bricky button.
I saw what you did there...
I did actually press it once or twice and it SEEMED to help re-pairing the sensor. But who knows... I've re-paired these things so many times I've lost track. I could have been pushing the "dispense" button on my infuser instead.
What is this .118 of which you speak?
Thanks for correcting my ignorance. People wouldn’t mine hitting the button if it was for a secret dispensary
It's Beta. We don't talk of it.
Lost track of what Hue thread I was in...discussing them in the Beta section as well as here. Apologies for the confusion. I'll edit my post.
Well, it's been 4 days on line for my problematic Hue exterior motion.
Too early to declare victory?
I have a couple of observations and questions:
Something I did, maybe save preferences, made all 9 of the Hue motions go to a 5 minute update, from 10 minute. The preferences are set to 'Default'.
What update period, say for illuminescence, is everyone seeing?
I noticed that on the device page, some had 'Event Size" set to 100, and others set to 11. I hadn't messed with them in the past. I set them all to '11'.
What's the story with that? Some memory-saving Hubitat policy?
Cuts down on hub activity, yeah. Dates back maybe a year.
