Just to clarify, the migration method is from hubitat to hubitat, not ST to hubitat so if you're coming from ST you will have to basically start from scratch.

Sounds more like they migrated to the C-8, found out about and ordered the C-8 Pro, and are trying to return the C-8 before the return period ends. So needing to migrate C-8 -> C-8 Pro.

@mazdaspeed has already completed the C8 to C8 Pro migration. Once Hubitat released the update yesterday to allow a Migration Backup to be created on their C8, they were then able to migrate to the C8 Pro.

My C-8 Pro has completed the migration and I have access locally, from a cell phone I use on my isolated IoT subnet, but I'm unable to connect via Remote Admin. The Remote Admin list of Hubs only has my C-8, and not the C-8 Pro. Locally, both hubs are registered and available.

That’s correct. As a new adopter to HE and still in my return period and only partially migrated from ST, the $30 price difference is a no-brainer. The C-8 goes back today.

C-8 to C-8 Pro was smooth. Had to clear my browser history to get Remote Admin to see the new hub registered to my account.

Those are 12 year old design. Clocking them at 1.5GHz or 2GHz doesn't matter all that much, they're still slow.

Now, if it's 2GB of RAM and an upgraded core, such as an A76 core, then it would be well worth an upgrade.

With 2GHz CPU and only 2GB RAM I doubt it is an A76. I mean I have an old H96 Pro+ S912 (Cortex-A53-based SoC ) running Armbian and even that has 3GB of RAM.

I picked up 3 C-7's @ $40 each that are new but open box that had been going to be used for a PuriFi Labs Air project. I figured that was a good deal.

When I know for sure Hubitat have gone past the A53 and at least 3GB of RAM then I will consider an upgrade.

Yep, I went ahead and got one, mostly because I've been wanting a cold-spare for my C8 as is, and I can use my old C8 as a cold-spare for a C8-Pro, as Hub Protect backups from a C8-Pro can be restored onto a C8 in a pinch. That way I'm not down for a couple days waiting on a Hub Protect replacement.

That said, it's definitely noticeably faster.

Exactly!

Plus, the performance improvements definitely suggest more than a simple clock speed bump. The A55 memory bus is greatly improved (32bit vs 16bit) over the A53.
