On the dashboard it appears the device Gate is not known/recognized. It was my understanding that I could add the Child device to the dashboard so I could send Open/Close commands.
You setup your device as a no sensor version. This means Hubitat does not have a way to know the device's state. So it will say Unknown since it doesn't know the state. You would need to have an open/close sensor attached to the door to get the state.
Ahhhh ok. So am I correct in there's no way to get open/close status via the MyQ interface?
Correct
Works great. I had to repair the app for some reason but once I did that, went through the setup steps and this works. Many thanks!
@dman2306 ... well fudge. After finding this open source MyQ API (which has the ability to obtain device open/close), I was hoping the HE7 app would be able to have this feature as well. Thanks for your assistance.
MyQ specifically forbids doing this. Is it technically possible? Yes. Is it legally possible? No. So As a result I donβt plan to support it. As a note, MyQ has been known to block the IPs of people doing that polling.
Tried running updater and got the following error

I'm guessing it's server error based on the logs, but will it resolve over time?
I had no way she was able to update it without any issue. You do have to resign in and let it grab the token the first time.
How do you log out, I tried to blank the fields and go to next screen, no bueno
I simply pulled up the (updated) MyQ and and the username/password were already there. I just clicked "Next" and it came back and said "A-OK" -- and immediately the garage doors were working again. Not the case for you?
That said, I'm still going to replace this with the Zooz ZEN17 + magic Security 2.0 openers I bought because I'm positive this will keep happening and don't want to deal with another cycle of this. I do, however, love the folks who got this working again to buy me some time to circle around to that project.
What's the version number for this new update? Is it v3.1.3? That version seems to be dated 2020-07-03. Is that the right version?
Nope mine didn't auto update. I'm going to try again later today but looks like my app is still legacy
Mine is 3.1.3, and based on git it seems to be latest.
It's a beautiful thing! Works like a charm.... Thanks @dman2306 for your outstanding work and how can I contribute to your efforts, do you have a Paypal account?
I echo this, upgraded this morning, and it all works like a charm again!!
How can we contribute to your efforts?
There is a PayPal contribute link at the bottom of the main page of Hubitat Package Manager, the magnum opus by this same author. Here is that link, copied from line 3718 of the HPM source:

I have donated many times for his software, which I use daily. Well designed.
Try doing a repair on the app.
