Assistance with Hard reset

I see documentation about advanced settings in the diagnostic menu, but I dont have that. I really want to nuke and start over to remove some ghosts, as I only have 2 zwave devices.

Anyone have information on h ow I can accomplish that? Thanks!

Did you make sure your diagnostic tool is up to date? See here for how:

The docs you probably found should also mention this. I'd also give them another read and consider that a Z-Wave reset plus maybe soft reset might be all you'd need for your hub.

Thanks! I did do a soft reset earlier, but the zwave ghosts remined. I did miss the manual update of the tool, i was checking for updates inside. now resetting the zwave radio, hopefully it works as expected

ok, ive reset the hub, and cleared everything. successfully paired my thermostat. rebooted hub, factory reset lock, then powered it off. added to smartthings, powered on lock, waited 15 min and nothing. it just stays on the screen saying not included, pending. verified no ghosts on zwave radio.

You mean you tried to re-pair the lock to Hubitat, not smartthings right? There are some options for sharing devices between smartthings and Hubitat, but thatโ€™s probably not what youโ€™re trying to do.

Which z-wave lock are you using?

i meant smart start. too many similar words :/. Its a kwikset lock, the 620 connect.

Have you excluded this lock from your alarm system? Your description of the inclusion process, and its outcome, makes me wonder if the lock is still paired to another z-wave controller.

For problematic SmartStart inclusions here is what I recommend.

  • Shut down the hub and unplug.
  • Factory reset the device
  • Power off device.
  • Boot hub.
  • Add/verify SmartStart Entry
  • Open new logs window for hub.
  • Power up device.
  • Watch for SmartStart started log entry, should be within 60 seconds.
  • Device will pair within 30-60 seconds after that.

If device is still not pairing trying doing an exclude on the hub and device, hub should say unknown device excluded and then kick right over to the SmartStart pairing shortly after.

Since this comes up so often I added it to my instructions post with my app, feel free to hand out this link for anyone else having issues: When SmartStart inclusion is not starting
