As the title states, the latest version of the Android Mobile App 2.0.5 (273) no longer displays the "Connect to Hub" button after selecting the hub on the previous page. Was this intentional or is it a bug?
Does the home page say if it thinks you're local or cloud?
I'm running 273 as well and it appears to be working as I expect it to,cable to switch between hubs and still get the Connect to Hub option. Like @bertabcd1234 points out, this (and a couple of other) options are only available when you are local to the hub. You can still switch between hubs when connecting via the cloud, just not connect to the hub.
Currently connected to the exact same network as my hub but it says (Cloud) after my hub name. This only started happening after my app updated roughly 2 days ago.
Same for me. The app thinks cloud but the Pixel 7 has an address within the same network mask as the hub. And I can use Brave (browser) to access the hub. But the link vanished when the App updated. Additional information: The hub connects using ethernet where as the Pixel is WiFi. Its not huge as I have a browser bookmark to the hub anyway.
There are now 3 separate threads that appear to be about the same issue (listed below).
How can we get this consolidated, and more importantly what should users do to solve this?
Gunna tag @bobbyD so maybe we can get some traction on a fix, or at least just some eyes on it.
I have the same issue.
Can navigate to the local IP address for the hub in a web browser and that works fine.
The app is missing the connect to hub button, only the remote admin button is present, so it's behaving like my device isn't on the local network.
Tried to replicate but app is working normally, no issues with connection type reported, and connect to hub option is there and works.
2.0.5 273, Galaxy S21.
Same issue here. App doesn't correctly determine the local network connection so the 'Connect to hub' option is missing (says 'cloud' after the hub on home page).
Hub and phone both on local network. Hub connected via ethernet. No change in hub IP address. Reset the App data had no effect.
Just going to elaborate on my current situation as I noticed I didn't give a ton of detail.
Currently running 2.0.5 (273) on a Galaxy S23+, my hub is running 2.3.9.193. I can connect via browser to the IP of my hub with no issues. The hub has had the same IP since I installed it right after the C8 was released, it has also had a static IP from day one. It is connected via ethernet to my network. I have tried clearing the App cache, clearing all app data, and uninstalled/reinstalled the App with no success. The previous version of the App, not sure on the exact platform number, did not exhibit this problem.
I noticed that if I open the App, then select the "My Account" button on the top left of the screen, then select "Registered Hubs", my hub shows up in the list and allows me to connect to it using the "Connect to Hub" button on that page.
I'm stumped...mine works normally w/out issues - says "(Local)" connection type, etc. Gonna need some bigger brains here. Tagging @moncho1138.
I just noticed that the platform version seen by the app is 2.3.9.154, while the hub (as per the hub's details page through the web) is 2.3.9.196.
I confirm this as a viable workaround for the 'Connect to hub' not showing up as expected. Thanks for a working solution.
Things are getting stranger and stranger...Can't remember - did you reboot your hub?
When I do that all I get is a forever blank white screen in the app. The app will not connect locally.
I've also got the issue of the Hub firmware not showing up properly in the app, which I reported in the below thread and it has remained an issue since reported.
Hardware: C7 with latest firmware, Android Google Pixel 4a with latest Android HE app
ETA: Above the blank white screen is the static IP address I've assigned to the hub. If I leave it long enough, the blank white screen eventually asks me to login, and I get the web interface instead of the app interface. I'm seeking to connect locally via the app interface like I could in the old app, so that I can see the parts of my dashboard that only work locally, such as graphs (and so I can see anything when the internet is down).
Actually it does. They moved it deeper down. Access it from the "your hub" (cloud) > then switch to another hub > and there listed will be a link to your hub via the your LAN. Only now, it won't open a browser first to get there it appears.
That doesn't fully work for me, when I select my hub after choosing "Switch To Another Hub" I am taken to a screen where I need to select my mobile device, once I select my mobile device it just takes me back to the main app screen with "my hub (cloud)" at the top. So who knows what's going on here...
I am accessing using a Pixel 7 running Android 15 and version 2.0.5 of the App.
Same for me, except I would characterize it as not working at all for purposes of connecting locally. It eventually just takes me right back to the cloud connection
