I have two Honeywell T6 thermostats that were working fine until the power outage last night. When trying to use Alexa to set the thermostat it indicated there was a problem. So far I've tried the following:
-Tried re-adding thermostats in Alexa app.
-Rebooted Hubitat hub.
-Rebooted Linksys router.
-Rebooted my Pixel 8 phone (With Alexa).
-Tried removing the devices in the Alexa app.
-Tried deleting the Amazon Echo Skill - The front door lock and porch light were re-added, but not the thermostats.
Any suggestions how to get these thermostats working with Alexa again would be appreciated!
Have you confirmed they still work directly from the Hubitat device page? I assume you did, but you don't specifically mention that. If they are not working locally in Hubitat, they won't work with Alexa.
Thanks, I just tried that. The thermostats are not showing up in the Alexa app at all. I tried removing them and readding them in the Alexa Echo app (after cycling power) but still not thermostats. I looked at the Alexa app on my phone and I don't see a "Hubitat" skill so I'm not even sure how the Hubitat integrates with Alexa.
Can you confirm that the thermostats function from their Hubitat device pages. Until that is established, it will be difficult to resolve why they cannot be connected to Alexa.
To clarify: Hubitat Device Page != Hubitat Dashboard or (any other app)
Yes, it works fine from the Devices page. Also working fine in the dashboard where I have it installed. Seems completely normal except for inclusion in Alexa.
Also, the Amazon Echo Skill is working for other devices. I just removed the front door lock from this skill, and it was removed from Alexa on my phone. Re-added the lock in Hubitat, and it reappeared in the Amazon app on my phone. Just not working with the two thermostats.
Unless someone has a better idea I'm thinking of just deleting thermostat, then reinstalling the device, then trying to add it using the Amazon Echo skill.
I just put a lot of work into the thermostat schedules though!
I switched the driver from the "Honeywell T6 Pro Z-Wave Thermostat" to the "Generic Z-Wave Plus Thermostat". Since the latter does not support "Auto" mode. But I'm fairly certain I had Alexa working with both drivers. I tried switching back to the Honeywell driver then removed and re-added the thermostat to Alexa. But it didn't work.
My original issue was not related to the generic drivers "Auto" mode and Alexa not working. Alexa was not working at all. It refused to be pushed to Alexa by the Hubitat. I deleted the thermostat and everything in use by it, reinstalled it, and Alexa voice commands worked fine. Then I set the "Set Thermostat Mode" to "Auto", and found that when I said "Alexa, set the downstairs thermostat to 77", I got the response "The thermostat is on auto". I changed the mode to "Cooling" and Alexa commands work as expected. Which leads to my next question.
To get Alexa to respond correctly I changed the setting Devices -> Downstairs Thermostat -> Set Thermostat Mode -> Cool. Below is a schedule that I created and as you can see all modes are set to "Auto" So would this scheduled "Auto" setting override the "Cool" setting in the device settings?
Can you tell me how to install this driver? I've looked at several threads with no answer. Also, you say you need to set the ISU to 300. Is that the same parameter as this for the current generic driver:
ISU 300 is referring to that specific parameter setting within the T6 itself (it has nothing at all to do with Hubitat) -- refer to your T6 manual for more info.
What specific driver are you asking aaiyer about how to install?
No that is in the setup of the T6. Press and hold MENU to get into setup. The ISU number will be at the top... Just keep hitting the right arrow on the screen till you get to 300. Also if you have a multistage system, you can change that setting as well in the ISU's (forgot what ISU it is)
Also, still not sure how to install the driver. I see some code text files, then I think I use Settings -> Restore Apps. What file should be installed?
