[2.4.3.173] Clicking SAVE on Prefs turns Device ON! [C-7]

One particular in-wall Zooz Zen74 S2 dimmer (using that driver) invariably turns ON whenever I toggle its "Enable descriptionText logging" preference and click SAVE.

Unexpected and definitely disruptive to WAF ("Why does the kitchen light keep coming on??"). Any clue why this is happening?

Haven't checked whether same effect occurs with other types of devices, so figured I'd start here. Can at least state that it's not happening with a different Zooz Zen74 S2 dimmer. At first, I thought this was a custom driver, but it seems to be built-in ("SYSTEM") on this firmware.

Are you sure this is related to "Enable descriptionText logging," or does it just happen every time you select "Save"?

Neither should really matter, but the latter sends any selected configuration parameters to the device, so I'd be curious what (other) preferences you have selected on this page if so. Perhaps the device responds by turning on when certain parameters are set.

Spot-on observations. Yes, it turns ON whenever SAVE is clicked under Preferences, and yes, I have a bunch of non-default parameter/configuration things set.

Pretty sure this can be filed under "behaving as expected" and that's that. The red herring all along was that the other (older) Zooz ZEN74 doesn't mimic this behavior, despite having most (if not all) of the same config settings.

If you can figure out which parameter it is, maybe the manufacturer can do something about that if it's unexpected. It's possible the driver is doing something weird (including that maybe different device firmware versions changed parameter numbers or the behavior of certain values). But if you wanted to narrow it down to a specific parameter/value, trying the device manual (the one that came with your device, or one you can find from the manufacturer matching your hardware and firmware version) and something like the Basic Z-Wave Tool could help do that.
