UPDATE: The Hubitat team should have a fix for the next release. For now just dissreguard the warn message.
Original message.
C8 Pro is now on 2.4.3.149
Now that its updated, all my First Alert (BRK Brands Inc) ZCombo-G Smoke/CO Alarm" are all now reporting (All 9 of them)
dev:15962025-11-06 10:59:55.346 AM warn Laundry Room Smoke/CO Carbon Monoxide Detector Replacement required, End-of-life
dev:15962025-11-06 10:59:55.152 AM info Laundry Room Smoke/CO battery is 94%
dev:15962025-11-06 10:59:54.970 AM warn Laundry Room Smoke/CO Smoke Detector Replacement Required, End-of-life
They are not at end of life, in fact one is less than a year old and the others are only 3 years and they are a 10 year device.
In addition to this, My Utilitech brand zwave devices still do not work (Since zwave js came out, they still work fine on legacy). Example My water leak sensor does not report wet, it always reports dry, and it use to show battery life, and no it no longer show battery life as of new update, and there are no debug showing in the log and it was prior showing stuff in the debug log. so more things are broken.
Was chatting with @bcopeland in private chat but its been silent for over 22 days.(Originally started chat on 9/23/25)
Really need to get these things fixed ASAP please.

Cool. It's definitely a thing:

I've also got a whole slew of them that are 1-2 years old frequently dropping that error as well.

I reverted back to 2.4.3.137, most for my other issue.
Still getting the smoke sensor message.
Mine has a June 2023 date on it.

I reverted back to ZIP because the 12-hr interval state reporting issues for my ZSE41 contacts persisted on ZWJS. Optimistic that fixed it.
ZCOMBO erroneous hourly end-of-life reporting apparently went away as well.
Was this warning on end-of-life ever fixed? I'm on 2.4.3.167 (and I am using ZWJS and want to try to stick with it), and I just noticed these warnings for all 5 of mine. They're supposed to be 10 year devices and were manufactured around 2022.
Bug is still there. But its only a notice in the log. Does not cause any issues.
Thanks. Still sent me into a bit of a panic when I found them. Luckily found this thread.

I just noticed this today (C8-Pro, 2.4.3.177, ZWJS). I was checking manufacturing dates, install dates, purchase dates, product manual.
Then I finally searched the exact warning phrase which brought me here. Now that I know it is a nuisance warning, I can calm down. Still not ideal, but not the same "putting loved ones at risk" panic that I was spiraling towards.
