[2.3.9.193] Increased Cloud Connection Disconnects

I use hub mesh as well and have it turned off. I'm having no issues with hub mesh. It is still working fine.

I just thought it might be worth a try. Another option to eliminate things.

Don't know why they put that Hub Mesh warning in there, that restart was added as a band-aid to try and fix Homekit issues. I dont think I have heard of anyone having issues with Hub Mesh with that off. I suggest everyone turns the bonjour restarts off and if you do have issues you can easily turn it back on.

Got another one over here: Keep Losing Cloud Connection - #6 by user2494

As noted in the thread Jeff linked, I witnessed all 4 of my Hubs reporting a "loss of cloud connection" this morning at oh-dark-thirty on my way out the door to work.

All four are on .193, and I have a C8Pro, 2 C8's and a C7 in operation.

I can't check on them remotely, or test if a reboot would work to resolve, but it struck me as odd this morning.... I've never seen this error previously, and all 4 of them getting the same error, made me believe that in this case, it was a cloud issue, not anything with my hubs.

Agree - I turned off Bonjour on my hubs three weeks ago and zero issues w/Hub Mesh.

Checking that...

I can confirm, a simple reboot of all 4 of my hubs eliminated the "Cloud Connection lost" notification.

@gopher.ny I just noticed that I’m also having this problem on a C-8 and a C-5 hub (both on .193).

My C-8 recovered before I noticed, but the C-5 required a reboot due to extreme hub load.

Add me in....C8 and C7 both having cloud disconnect. C8-Pro still connected. All are on latest, 2.3.9.193.

I'll send you the relevant Hub UIDs in case you want to look, @gopher.ny.

Another data point that may or may not be relavent - my hubs running Matter seem to fail more often that those that aren't. (Matter operation is unaffected.)

No Matter on my hubs

@danabw @thebearmay does a hub event get logged during a cloud disconnect? I have 3 hubs up and running, 2 C8 Pro in production with Hub Mesh and 1 C7 Dev hub, and haven't seen a cloud disconnect at all. I looked at my location event and hub event lists and don't see anything regarding a cloud disconnect either. Just trying to understand if I have experienced this issue.

The only place I see an event logged is when my Hub Information Device logs a change in its attribute (I increased my poll cycle to check it every 9 minutes it last week.)

Matter on C8-Pro (connected).

Not running Matter on C8 or C7 (disconnected).

This.

Victor has my hub IDs now. Since I'm Executive Member of the Whinging Automation Association of Homeowners (WAAH!) I'm pretty sure this will get fixed almost immediately.

Same here, it only affects my non-pro hubs. Although it hasn’t happened since I turned off Bonjour restarts yesterday…

Happened this morning

I know right away as my HD+ starts complaining as I use the cloud url for that

Seeing the same on my C5. I have Bonjour off and do not use matter. Dropping back to .184 to keep WAF from plummetting.

Too late, I can see she's already in the Lounge here firing salvos at everyone.

The Cloud not connected issue happened when I loaded .192 so I then loaded .193 and still was dropping cloud.

Rolled back to .184 and no issues for a day or so.

Did a Reboot followed by Update to .193 and it's been solid so far, No Cloud loss.....
