2.2.7 Generic ZWave Plus Devices

I certainly could, but typically outlet drivers are about the simplest thing to make. If the in-box ones aren't working there must be something really wacky going on with the device. If you get a change PM me the model number or a link to it, maybe I'll pick one up.

I just tried the "Generic Z-Wave Plus Contact Sensor" driver on 3 of my Aeotec Recessed Door Sensor Gen 5's and they don't work at all. I've now reverted to the non-Plus versions.

I only tried it with one dimmer; thank the lord. I could not get it to work properly (update status on the driver page) when I switched back to the previous driver either. Then, later in the day, it must have started spamming the hub and everything went unresponsive, which I posted here. I disabled the dimmer for now, and will try excluding it, yada yada, before replacing it with a Zigbee dimmer.

So, what exactly are these new drivers intended for?

I wonder should we email support and ask the question? Would be nice to know, especially for newcomers who think these should be the ones to use with a Zwave + device and then find out their device doesn't work.

I figured they would have been fixed several releases ago. The admin were tagged in various posts. Unless, like you hint, maybe they are for something else and we are using them wrong. Anyway, I went back toJasonJoel's community drivers which work great.

I noticed my GE outlets are now choosing this driver when I am setting up a C7. I too get no state updates with this driver. Also, it doesn’t support any preferences, so to change the LED settings you have to use the non -plus driver. Is there supposed to be something better about this one? It doesn’t work right for GE devices.

Well. that's not supposed to happen.. Going to re-test been a while since I hooked one up..

It sounds like @hydro311 is having the same issue. As a note, if I click refresh the state updates, but it's not "instant' like you'd expect from a Z-Wave Plus device.

Same here. But they work perfectly with the Generic Zwave Outlet driver.

And I can reproduce your observation that refresh doesn’t work correctly either with the Plus driver.

I worded it poorly. Refresh DOES work correctly. I meant doing a refresh is good, but you don't get automatic status updates when the device turns on/off. E.g. it functions more like an old Zwave device requiring polling. And yeah, switching to the Zwave Outlet driver works for me as well.

Interesting. Doesn’t work properly for me. The status displays off when it is on, and pushing refresh doesn’t always change the status to match reality.

Same problem with the Generic Zwave Plus Switch driver. As a note too, this guy which is a GE/Jasco light switch was auto detected as an outlet:

Running 2.2.8.156 same problem with the Generic Zwave Plus switch using UltraPro 39354, switched to Generic Zwave, and the refresh problem is gone.
I will stick to this driver, at least there is a solution.
Thanks for all your inputs, I was lost in the dark.

This thread is an older one, but did anyone ever figure out what the Z-Wave Plus series of HE drivers were intended to do? And do they still not work? The curiosity is killing me, lol. @bcopeland

Replacement of older generic drivers for newer devices. Supporting newer command class versions, etc.

Thanks Brian, i'll give her a whirl with my new ZEN73 switches.

You may want to try the community driver for these Zooz. Nothing against the generic drivers, they work fine, but the community drivers have all the parameters exposed and much easier to customize than the built in ones.

Thanks @neonturbo, I had those installed and I dont really need all the bells and whistles so I went back to basics. I just this morning switched all my drivers to Generic Zwave Plus Drivers, I have to say it's fast. I am only half a day into it and, I can't tell you why, but I think that my network seems better. Here is a snapshot of the devices, it's looking nice.
