As an additional data point, I have a C8 running JWJS with a Fibaro. They internal temperature works as does an external temperature sensor. However, I don't have any digital devices to contribute to that data.

I was able to sense my garage door open / close state, I just couldn’t trigger the digital out relays. I don’t use the temp sensor for anything, so it never occurred to me to check it.
