Zwave/Zigbee stick from C-3 hub usable w/ Home Assistant?

Does anyone know if it's possible to use the zwave/zigbee usb stick that came with the C3 hub with a Home Assistant installation on a Raspberry Pi? Does the stick that came with the C3 have a specific brand name, or is it a generic stick specifically for the Hubitat?

Yes it does work - I've used the Nortek stick from an old C-4..

I can also confirm what @erktrek wrote. Although, in my opinion, there are inexpensive better options available today. You can get a 700-series z-wave+ stick from SiLabs for ~$25, and there are zigbee sticks that support zigbee 3.0 that can be obtained for about $25 as well.

Do you know of any good ZB3 sticks? The reviews on the sonoff one aren't that great.. pairing issues etc.

Anything that is CC2652 based works well.

Yeah having trouble finding an "in stock" stick.. The zzh! CC2652R Zigbee 3 USB stick looks interesting.

This one is very similar .... (and is available). I have two of these.

I've ordered a few Tube's ZB devices, and it's only take a few days after joining the waiting list for me to get notified that they're in stock. I'm sure the "lead time" here varies, but it was pretty fast for me, so I wouldn't let that hold you back (worst case, you can just give up your spot).

Glad I didn't go the Sonoff route, I guess, even though it's a much more attractive price.

are you using the stick on HA or as a router in HE?

I'm not using it in HE.

Same here. I have one of Tube's Ethernet based Zigbee controllers and one of his Zigbee repeaters. He stands behind his products, ships quickly, and is USA based (for faster delivery times for those of us based in the USA.)
