Zwave repeater Inactive

I have an Iris outlet that has a zwave repeater in it.

The repeat enrolled as a generic zwave repeater but it now shows inactive and hasn't had any events since 9/22. Is that normal behavior?

It's not and I have to exclude and paired again to get it online. I have 10 Iris plugs.

Does the 8 rapid presses work for you? I've been fighting these things ever since I got them last week.

I don't have much issue pairing them at all. I use the 8 rapid presses. sometime I do 8 presses, stop for 2 secs and 8 presses again. I usually bring the plug close to the hub for pairing. usually in the same room with the hub. Doesn't have to be super close.

What do you define as rapid? As fast as you can push it? Everytime it turns on/off press? I can't seem to get any to pair on the Z-wave.

Fast enough that it won't turn on/off the plug. You can also try reset the plug by holding the button longer than 10 secs. That will reset both Zigbee and Z-Wave.

Just rapid pushes, Don't actually push the button in to make it turn on and off. It took me a few tires but finally got it.

@mike.maxwell

Hey Mike, after latest update I found one of my Iris plugs went inactive the z wave repeater. I did a z wave repair and now 2 of them went inactive, are this normal?

Thanks

yes, they do not produce any data, they will be inactive.

I do see that they do report in.

Thanks Mike for the fast answer. I will leave them alone, honestly I'm using them to boost my zigbee mesh lol

???, which device and driver is this?, are you serious, this thing is spitting out reports every 50 to 100ms???
If that truly is the case and it can't be disabled, I certainly can't recommend this as a repeater, talk about spamming your network with worthless data...

This is the Iris plug with the generic zwave repeater driver. This is what I see sometimes from various zwave device on my network. a series of parse like this. Could there be some problem with the serial port between the zwave stick and the HUB? I doubt that the Iris plug is truly sending out that many packages. Could it be something causing the parse method to get call repeatedly?

Here are the log message for one of my econet vent.

this is not normal, how long as this been going on?

Been happening for awhile now. Might have something to do with RM since I have an RM rule that should refresh the vents at 10 minutes interval.

I also have another RM rule that should refresh some zwave plug at 5 minutes interval and i'm seeing something similar. I am only getting these type of flooding for devices associated with RM rule to refresh on an interval.

did it pair in secure mode?

Repeaters dont pair securily, they dont need to as they just route messages between devices so they have no need to participate in any encryption.

I'm seeing mine with empty in and out and no info in data, so I was wondering if it paired correctly.
(and a device id of 7FFFFFFF)

This is what one of mine looks like

looks totally different! will try to re-pair.
