Hi Folks,
New to Hubitat (former STs), going strong about a month now, but I am having issues with two of my Monoprice Z-Wave Plus Recessed Door/Window Sensor, 115268. It appears they fall asleep and don't report back when required. Just my guess, and never an issue in ST. So they added fine and they will work right for hours just after adding. Leave them overnight and I open my door but the status doesn't change. Both units are acting the same way. Now, if I open and close the door several times they will start working again, almost like they have woken up? I have done a bit of reading here and what most people seem to think its authentication related. They are currently joined as S0. I have a USB zwave stick on the way to see if I can join them unauthenticated. Anyone have these and experienced the same issues that resolved it?
Thanks
Chad
May want to try changing the driver to Ring Alarm Contact Sensor. A recent change to the drivers to increase the reliability of battery reporting seems to have had an unanticipated consequence (being addressed).
Ok, thanks for the advice! I'll try that tonight and see how it works.
Hi,
Just an update on this one, I tried the Ring Alarm Contact Driver, but it still had the same issues. Stuck states and almost like the device were asleep. I first thought my network was bad, but that wasn't the case. So I received my ZWave stick and reverted the Security from S0 to None. 4 days and not one hiccup! They are very responsive and haven't missed one open or closed event that I am aware of. Like others here, there does appear to be an issue with S0 security and some devices. Maybe in the future we will have a software solution in Hubitat to join with no security, without the fuss of a ZWave stick and extra PC software.
