Any know of any zwave long range sensors that have external dry contacts and are battery powered? I've always used ecolink's for their contacts--and they work great, but they're not LR. And there are plenty of LR sensors, but they don't have external contacts. I'm looking for Zwave LR and external contacts and just burned an hour web surfing without success.
Officially this is all the zwave LR sensors, technically what you are looking for does not exist yet. If you are willing and able to do some very light hacking on the exposed contacts on a leak sensor i think you can get what you want now. depending on use case NO vs NC battery life may suck.
If you are OK with soldering, you can use whichever sensor you like and solder wires across reed switch. If sensor is based on Hall Effect sensor you will need to remove it and soder wires to GND and Data pins. Leak sensor may be sensitive to noise on external wires but could do the job.
