I just noticed that a Zwave firmware upgrade is available when I go to the Zwave details page. I believe the last Zwave firmware upgrade I did was well over a year ago when they finally fixed some of the longstanding bugs from the original release years ago.
I cant find anything stating what the upgrade revision is or what issues it will solve by downloading.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to see what this latest firmware upgrade is fixing?
I'm not even running 7.23.x on my main zwave js dev hub, so I don't REALLY know if it fixes anything or not.
But others in the zwave js forums and the SiLabs tissue tracking thread have reported it helped them, and the issue SiLabs cites as fixed in the release notes is the jammed issue tracking # - so it "should" help.
Who knows? I have 110 zwave items and never see jammed messages at all - I used to get thme a lot <7.22.x. So it's not like I can really test it.
Thanks everyone for your quick replies. I am not nearly as technical as some of you folks. To the point that if my C7 Hub is asking to upgrade to new Zwave firmware, I would hope that would be because it is the right thing to do for that Hub.
From what I can gather from your responses , specifically from @hydro311 , if I have a C7 then I shouldnt upgrade but for my C8 I could (should?)
Probably. A beta has been available on request for a while, but it might have been 7.23.0... And I never install .0 firmware unless I have zero other options.
A C7 hub will not offer the 7.22 update at all, what it should be offering you is the 7.18 update which dropped a while back. 7.18 is the recommended zwave radio firmware for a 700 series radio chip.
Ignore everything else everyone has said, they assumed you had a C8 and enabled the new ZWaveJS feature, which then allows the 7.22 update on C8 hubs only.
Please see this info and the linked instructions. You can use the endpoint to confirm your current version before attempting the update. Post the output here if you are not sure how to read it.
