Just used the latest ZWave device updater. The new feature to search for the latest source file worked great and saved me time hunting for the OTA file on the vendor's site. Nice improvement.
Unfortunately the new changes come with a new limitation that you can only have one firmware update running at a time. Under previous versions I was able to open multiple windows so I could launch several updates and just come back when they were all done. So not sure why that was pulled away. Would be better if you could have concurrent updates running.
Lastly, a nit maybe, but each time to go to check for the latest firmware the app downloads it. Perhaps the first time should store the file in the hub repository and then if called for again it can skip the download step.
Ah yes...I am still on C-7...checked some old threads and early on there were rumors that the C-7 might support ZWave-JS, but I assume that is not the case. I've been putting it off, but I guess its time for an upgrade.
that is even better! I only run concurrent sessions as a work around to create a psuedo batch mode anyway. My goal is just to avoid waiting around for one to finish before starting the next. Batch mode would do that.
FYI I have updated 50 or so devices running 4-5 sessions at a time without problems. Never got brave enough to go beyond 5.
As others suggest would be cool if app finds the like kind devices and batches them up. If that's too ambitious for a R1.0 then a pull down list or scheme to enroll the devices you want to batch would be a good interim.
Might be a bug in the offered file subsystem. Or maybe just the repository is not updated?
Device is updated to 2.50.1, Zooz OTA file at company website is now shows 2.60.1 for latest. Automatic firmware discovery wants to down grade to 2.20.1
I suspect repository is not properly updated but not sure.
It depends on the manufacturer submitting their firmwares.. Also… Make sure that’s the only version available.. That drop down should show other versions.. It could also be labeled as beta
