ZSE44LR not showing up in firmware updater

I am trying to update the firmware of my Zooz ZSE44LR temperature sensor. Unfortunately, it does not show up in the list of devices to choose for updating.

I downloaded the ".gbl" files from zooz, uploaded it to the hub and tried the following:

  • Disabling the device,
  • Tapping the button 4 times
  • Removing and reinstalling the firmware updater app.
  • Shutting down the hub and powering it off for 30-seconds, remove battery from the ZSE44LR for 30-seconds, powering everything up and trying again.

Nothing seems to work -- it never shows up in the list of devices that have an available update.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Marc

Is is joined to the hub in LR mode, or as a mesh device?

Just to confirm, you mean the built-in app?

What hub model are you using, and what platform version are you running? Check Settings > Hub Details for both.

@neonturbo and @bertabcd1234, thank you for responding so quickly! Here is the additional information you requested that I should have included in my original post:

  • The device is joined to the hub in LR mode.
  • I am using the built in device firmware updater app.
  • My hub is a C8-PRO, platform version 2.4.3.149
  • I am using the legacy z-wave stack, not ZWaveJS, as the latter destabilized my z-wave network.

A quick update that I worked around the problems by excluding the device and then including it as a non-LR device. It showed up immediately in the list of targets.

Adding @support-agent to the thread is this appears to be a bug...

My recent experience with some ZSE41s is that you can't be shy with the 4-press wakeup. LR firmware updates went smooth for me on the 6 I did it on.
edit: I missed that this was on ZIP, not ZWJS, sorry.

The Firmware Updater tool most definitely works all-around better on JS. On ZIP, it still seems to have some quirks.

Unfortunately, when I upgraded my network to ZWJS, it destabilized.

The symptoms started out as a bit of lag in processing button presses on my older ZEN30 double switches.

By the 4th day, the lag turned into a delay of around 4-5 seconds.

Once I reverted to the legacy stack, everything went back to normal.
