Just getting started on my home smartening journey, and I've successfully set up Homekit integration with 2 of 3 devices (a Zooz wall switch, an Ikea Tradfri outlet). I've tested both from my iPhone, and I can control them as expected. However, the third device, a Zooz ZSE18 motion sensor isn't showing up in Homekit, even though I have it enabled in the Homekit Integration app. The sensor itself is working, sending motion sensor alerts to the hub (visible in the logs).
Any idea how to get it to show up in Homekit? I've restarted the Homekit Integration service and rebooted the hub, neither have worked. What else can I try?
You can also go to Home Settings > Hubs & Bridges > [Open appropriate Bridge] > Accessories
That lets you see all the accessories synced with that bridge.
Hmm, never mind. I don’t share my sensors with HomeKit, the above is via my Ecobee thermostat.
Yeah I see both my multi sensors and my ZSE18 in that view. For a multi sensor it shows up as "4 sensors" and you have to open it up to see each individual sensor info.
Also keep in mind that in HK if your device name starts with the room it is in they cut the room off when showing the name in the tiles (which IMO is awesome). So if you have something named "Bathroom Motion Sensor" in the "Bathroom" it will just be listed as "Motion Sensor". Overall the way they handle sensors is a little confusing at first but makes sense and is great once you start using it more.
Thank you for your reply!
Ok, I can see it there now. It's there, it just doesn't display automatically, and I can't do any automations with it without a HomeKit hub (Apple TV or the speaker thing).
No worries, at least it's working in Hubitat, so I'm good!
Yes that is normal for any HK automation, you need a Home hub. If you plan to use the Home dashboard then I would recommend getting a Home hub. Makes it more reliable and also it then works remotely.
I would recommend making any automation within HE though.
Thank you, good to know! I've been thinking about getting an Apple TV anyways, guess this is one more reason to go ahead and pick one up!
