Zooz Zen51 Momentary Contact

I replaced a failed Qubino Flush 10 Relay with a Zen51. In Preferences, I configured it as Switch Type: MOMENTARY and Relay Type: NORMALLY OPEN.

The purpose is to turn on a hot water circulation pump from a momentary contact switch and the pump automatically turns itself off. Unfortunately, once activated, the Zen51 stays in the ON state so the pump keeps restarting. What am I doing wrong?

That sounds OK to me, so I'd be curious to hear what Robert or Jeff P. may have to say (as both gents have extensive experience writing Zooz drivers)...

But if all else fails, I'd just set param 7 = 2 (default on/off) and set the relay to auto-off after a couple/few seconds (via params 2 and 10). As a failsafe, you could also have a backup RM rule that turns the relay off after a bit longer. For example, if relay's auto-off = 2", the failsafe rule would trigger at 4" if it's still on.

That's my strategy for mimicing a momentary switch with the Zen17 controlling my GDO.

Thanks! The "all else fails" approach sounds workable, except params 7, 2 and 10 are not exposed in the current Zen51 device driver. Is there another way to access?

I''d recommend using Jeff P's community driver for exposing more parameters.

Zooz (relatively) updated the firmware such that the Z51 relay can be decoupled and maybe some other new capabilities, and I don't think Jeff has had time yet to integrate all of that. But for the more basic/common scenarios and parameters, it should work well.

I forgot to include this ealier -- AFAIK, this fail-safe rule has never come into play, but having it helps me sleep better at night...

"GDO Button" is the relay on my Zen17 that (via parameters) has an auto-shutoff time of 2 seconds.

Thanks!! Jeff P's Advanced Driver allows a good work around.
