In hopes the the following hodge-podge of info may somehow be helpful, here's what I gleaned from my latest round of Zooz updates on Fri 8/29... I'm on JS with the 7.22 stack.
On JS, only mesh devices will show up in the Device Firmware Updater menu - no LR devices populate.
After switching to ZIP, the LR devices then populated too -- thankfully, I was able to easily update both of my LR Zen17s from there.
I next tried to update my LR Zse44s and 41s... Although it took a LOT of attempts, I was finally able to update both LR 44s from ZIP.
For some reason, the LR 41s were not having it -- I lost count how times I tried (along with every combination of reboot and shutdown I could think of). I had to exclude-&-reinclude those as mesh, and then then they updated fine (even after moving back to JS).
