Zooz/The Smartest House -> Jasco

For me the issue w/that generation of switches was where Jasco showed their quality. They added five year warranty, and in my case replaced two of my switches that were outside the five years. Each replacement was easy to complete w/very friendly & helpful phone support. I don't know how they could have caught the issue in house, since it took years of use to surface, so I can't blame them for intentionally shipping w/the issue.

Not many companies would stand so solidly behind their products, and I can't think of better example of a situation where a warranty issue would make me want to keep buying a company's products. (And I do.) :slight_smile:

I've had the same positive product support/warranty experience w/Zooz. That's why I think Jasco and Zooz share some good company culture.

You may be thinking of Zooz and Minoston, who do share an OEM on at least some of their products.

The old inovelli's were dedicated Switches or Dimmers. The the switches could handle a small inductive load (small bathroom fan). The newer ones are dimmers that you can configure to be switches. However, they can't handle the same load as they were designed to be dimmers. You now have to buy a special switch and I would have to add additional inline smart switches between my light and fan in order to use their combo light/fan switches.

SC Johnson, Mars and FMR (Fidelity) are all family companies. Families can be just as bad as Fortune 500 companies. That doesn’t mean anything. I would suspect this means their licensing agreement with GE has either ended or is about to end, and with GE no longer interested in the consumer market, they won’t renew it. I have some of the GE/Jasco and Honeywell stuff. Was not impressed with either. I have a ton of zooz and have always been pleased. I don’t see Jasco supporting the products the way Zooz does.
