Zone Motion Controllers suddenly unreliable

I've had pretty good success with zone motion controllers, but sometime in one of the many updates in the past week, my zone motion controllers have become very unreliable. Most zones have 2 zigbee motion detectors, but one has only one Z-wave and another has 2 z-wave and 1 zigbee. The only zone I can depend on now is the one with only one z-wave controller. In all of my other zone groupings, it seems that only 1 of the motion detectors is being reacted to, In most zones the controllers cover different parts of an area. Occasionally they behave perfectly but mostly I can walk around and until I get to one particular detector the zone doesn't work. I can see the earlier detectors detect me (detector light flashing) but the zone doesn't turn on the lights.

Looking in the log at the recent use of my 3 detector zone (mZone-Stairs34) it looks like it worked; Detector Attic Landing became active, but mZone-Stairs34 never actually turned on the light (I know that setting brightness and turning on the light is redundant, but I've been experimenting trying to figure out what's going on.):

Just now I went the other way (up vs down the stairs) and everything worked and the lights turned on.

This is really irritating. I made a few tweaks several weeks ago (mainly turning off debug everywhere) and they had been working perfectly.

I don't use ZMCs anymore but they are handy. Maybe create a new one with the devices in question and switch to using that one instead - see if it makes a difference..

I'll give that a shot

Unless I am missing something here (and it is possible), the logs you showed here for the activation that "doesn't works" and the one where "everything worked" seem to be identical, so I would look at the lights device and see what debug logs there shows. It could be an issue with the device itself.

Thats a good catch! I wonder what would happen if they temporarily switched to a different light (or create a virtual one) and tested that? They could also remove motion sensors from the ZMC one at a time and test afterwards to see if anything changes there as well.
