Zigbee thermostat for wall/ductless heatpumps

Hi,
Are there Zigbee thermostats for wall/ductless heatpump ?
I found the HP6000ZB-GE from Sinopé, but I could not find any information about its support in Hubitat.

Does the hp have a 24v terminal?

I have not installed or purchased the heat pump yet. I want to consider the thermostat and Hubitat in combination with the heat pump.

Are you doing window or mini split?

It's going to be some split one, with one or two units outside and one or two heads inside.

Something like

Haven't decided on the brand or model yet, I am getting quotes from various dealers for various models.

Then just make sure you get one with an available module that can use a standard thermostat. You will need one for each head. (louvers and specialty items will still be controlled via a remote but on/auto fan and cool/heat/auto will be controlled by the thermostat) Then you can use any zigbee/z-wave thermostat you like.

I have yet to find a mini-split from any manufacturer that supports a standard 24vac thermostat out of the box...

Sad. The HP6000ZB seems to be designed specially for minisplit, and is Zigbee, but so far it requires the Sinopé hub.

Any chance of supporting the HP6000ZB-GE from Sinopé in Hubitat ?

most of their thermostats work with one of their existing drivers, is this not the case with this one?

I don't know if it does, but they don't advertise it as such: Compatible platforms HP6000 - Sinope Support

I asked them today, pending an answer. Presumably it is more than a simple thermostat, and support things like louver controls.

Most you can get the add on module for it. My system is LG and took about 2 mins to install the module into each head and wire in the thermostat. More technically it's called a dry contact module.

Yeah, over the years they have become less and less interested in supporting other zigbee platforms, if this thing in fact does do more than just act as a standard thermostat, then I'll reach out to my tech contact over there and see if I can get one.
Usually they just send me their new stuff for integration into hubitat, but it's been a good year and a half since thats happened...

That would be amazing if you can get an answer from them. I will let you know what they answer from the customer side. Because I am definitely more interested to integrate it into Hubitat than through their own platform that requires Internet access and integrates only with Alexa and Google home.

I like their devices, but I don't like their platform. I like offline support with Hubitat and Apple Home.

here's the best part about that device:

That it is only available through a Pro ? I know, but it's ok (for me anyway), I can get one through my heat pump installer.
By the way, that one is the Wireless version. They have a Zigbee one.

they're quite sketchy on what you get outa this thing...
yeah I saw the zigbee version

Well, the official initial answer is that the heat pump solutions are only compatible with their own interface Neviweb. That's sad considering how well things have worked between Sinopé and Hubitat in the past...

Hopefully you get a better answer from your side. I did point the customer support person to this thread.

Find the brand you are getting then find out if you can get the dry contact unit

There are ESP32 modules available that may be a solution to mini-split integrations.

I haven't done any research about how this might work with Hubitat, I simply noticed the device when searching for something else and thought it was an interesting device. In theory it should work, but I am not the right one to ask about it.

If this module did work, you could then use any thermostat that integrates into Hubitat. It would require some rule (or a mirror app?) to relay the commands from the thermostat to the ESP device.

I ended up going with two Lennox heat pumps Lennox MWMD, MWMD012S6-1P, Single Zone, 208 - 230 VAC 1 Ph 60 Hz, High-Efficiency Wall-Mount Mini-Split | LennoxPros. It is "powered by Samsung", and SmartThings-enabled. I managed to integrate it with Hubitat through Hubithings.

I think that in principle, it could be local through Matter, if I purchased a SmartThings hub, but for now I think I will stick with the cloud integration and see how it goes.
