Zigbee Switches with "Central Scene" like functions?

I've been trying to find Zigbee wall switches that have paddle/button push, hold, release, double-tap functionality similar to what you find in Z-Wave switches supporting Central Scene functionality. I can't seem to find them - at least not where I can clearly indentify the function from the online specs for the products I've seen - are there any such devices and, if so, can you post recommendations?

Thanks - I have some of those type switches, but they are Z-Wave. However, I'm considering using some Zigbee switches so I'm wondering if similar functionality exist in any Zigbee switches.

And I clearly skipped over that part of your post - apologies!!! (and deleted)

D'oh!

You are right - I haven't found any either.. Thought the new Zigbee GE Enbrightens would have that capability but doesn't look like it as far as I can tell. bummer.

So what's up with not using your existing Z-Wave switches in this capacity if you already have them? Seems like a less expensive experiment. I am using Zooz Zen24 V3s &4s and trapping button presses (for scene changes) works great.

Another thought is to go in wall with a Lutron Pico or maybe the RGBGenie Micro Remote. No wiring required which is nice.

That's all I got...

Some of my Z-wave switches (in particular, HomeSeer) seem to lock-up occasionally requiring power resets. They also have some errors in their S2 implementation. I'm getting tired of the lock-ups and errors, so I thought I'd try some Zigbee switches and see how they compare. But I do make a lot of use of Central Scene so I don't want to lose this type of functionality - and won't bother with Zigbee if I can't find something similar.

On a side note make sure there is nothing weird going on with your electrical system.. maybe that could be causing some issues.

Its almost certainly bugs in S2 implementations that are causing the problems - the switches that lock up are HomeSeer devices with S2. But I've also found problems with Inovelli devices (the only Inovelli devices I use are the fan controllers, LZW36). My next step is to exclude all S2 from my network, and re-include without S2.

Did you PM Bryan to get the latest update to the SDK? Apparently it's already on the hub, just needs to be activated/installed.

Yep. At this point, I'm 99% certain its device/node issues, not the hub. Without going into too much detail, with the LZW36s, if you send S2 to an endpoint, you get two S2 reports back -- one from the root (which I don't think should be sent) and one from the endpoint which causes problems. On the HomeSeer devices, I get "No Support" reports back when the devices worked and I should get "Success" reports.

So, basically, I'm planning to be done with S2 security - not worth the bother - and use Zigbee for future nodes if I can find devices with something like Central Scene.

I have only used S2 on 2 repeaters everything else without.. I have a couple of 700 series switches and lots of 500s - Mostly Zooz. Am not experiencing your issues.. :crossed_fingers:

Won’t help right now, but Inovelli should be coming out with a scene capable Zigbee switch/dimmer. Probably in early 2022 if I correctly remember their roadmap.

Thanks for the info. I can wait (particularly since waiting seems to be the only option!)
