Zigbee smoke detector Photoelectric

Anybody using these zigbee smoke detectors? They keep showing smoke detected but no alarm. I've cleared them but detected keep returning. Is this normal?

It is not possible to identify a Tuya device based on a picture only, very often one and the same plastic cabinet is used to fit different firmware versions made by different manufacturers, different models and sometimes even different type of devices..

Please always specify the Zigbee device Model and Manufacturer, as identified in Hubitat (the information is available in the Device Info tab).

Was the Tuya driver selected automatically during the pairing?
Or, you changed the driver manually later?

To Tell you the truth I don't remember. Is it the wrong driver?

I can't check at this moment, but you can try searching in this forum for
image
(enter the Manufacturer identifier as a text in the forum search field). Are there any references for this device, or it is a new one?

I am not aware of any other driver for Tuya TS0601 model smoke detectors ...

Some Tuya devices, especially TS0601 models will work very differently depending on whether they were initialized as expected during the pairing process or not. Any further Configure/Initialize commands do not have any effect. The right driver should be installed before the Tuya TS0601 device is paired to your hub.

So, pair it again (without deleting it).
I am not quite sure what the problem you are observing is - the device keeps detecting smoke, or the alarm does not sound?

To state the obvious, is this a genuine software issue or is the alarm clogged with particles/dust?

Both. I've just looked at the device options on the new app. There is no place anymore to change driver, just type. So, the inclusion must have picked the driver.

"Type" is where you change/select the driver - it's always been that way.

Give some more details, what is the driver version you are using?
Should be 1.2.1.

Anything in the live logs when you press the TEST button on the device?

Yes 1.2.1

Just tested

It used to be you made 2 selections device and driver.

FWIW, if your smoke detector doesnโ€™t have a UL certification marking on it (as a Tuya branded device it almost certainly does not) you should seriously consider replacing it with a smoke detector marketed for sale in North America (any of which is tested by UL).
