Could use something like this with a little stronger gate design and Zigbee onboard to secure frequently accessed (and currently padlocked) outbuildings and equipment.
What's interesting is how much is developing out there that is in it's own independent space (phone app and cloud; maybe connected to other stuff in the cloud, maybe not). Meanwhile many of us are trying to consolidate around a common interconnected platform off cloud.
Granted these IOT locks solve a "non-local but centrally managed" problem; ....being deploy-able across a whole school district, park district, property/facility management, etc., infrastructure anywhere.
