Zigbee network is always offline on hubitat c7

I am using a habitat C7 and I have not been able to connect any zigbee devices to the hub. The Hub has an alert that says the Zigbee network is offline.

I am running platform version 2.3.9.157 on the hub. I have tried a complete shutdown and hard reset neither had any affect. I have also tried disabling and re enabling the zigbee radio, but the status of the radio never changes. Additionally, I also tried rolling back the platform version to backed up versions and the radio did show up as online, but no zigbee devices would connect and when I changed the zigbee channel the hub would stop responding without a restart and default to channel 11. This did not work to connect my zigbee devices so I upgraded back to the 2.3.9.157 version.

I am trying to connect some smart things water leak sensors to the hub and before I realized the zigbee radio was off I tried everything I could think of to get them to connect. I need these sensors to connect so I would really appreciate it if someone could help me get the zigbee radio working.

Tagging @bobbyD - you have already done everything I would do in this situation.

How did you do a hard reset?

I mistyped there so I understand the confusion. I meant to put Full Reset from the advanced portion of the diagnostics tools. To see if clearing out all of my settings might fix the issue. No luck there.

Yes. this is what i have experienced on C7 firmwares above 150 breaks the zigbee on C7. I went back to 147.
good luck with hubitat staff....

Backups do not roll the platform back, you have to use the diagnostic tool to do that.

If you did a full reset from the diag tool and Zigbee is still showing as offline, sounds like a hardware problem to me.

Do you have Hub Protect? File a claim -> Subscriptions – Hubitat Support

Did this ever get solved other than rolling back? I'm gifting my son my son my old C7 that i upgraded to a C8 and transferred my Hub Protect to my C8 frim this hub.. i just updated it to the new 2.4.0.114 and the zigbee radio now stays offline after all the resets and reboots and above tricks

thanks for any guidance

Hubitat support looked into my issue and determined this was most likely a hardware issue that could not be resolved without either sending the C-7 back to them for replacement. The other option I had was to just go ahead and upgrade to a C-8, but got a discount due to the hardware issue with the C-7. I opted to upgrade to a C-8 and just use my old C-7 to communicate with devices that do not use zigbee in remote areas of my house.

I do not know if this problem always occurs with C-7's as support was willing to replace my C-7 to see if the issue would be resolved. My advice would be to ask about your C-7 in the support forums to get hubitat support to weigh in. I know from all the testing I did nothing ever worked to get the zigbee radio operational and I did a lot of testing.

Best of luck!

Here's something that worked for me in a similar described situation..

I rolled back the firmware .146 in the settings/ diagnostic tool / advanced section

Then when things came back from reboot, I still had no zigbee radio

So I disabled the zigbee radio, left it off and went back to the diagnostic tool/ advanced and rebooted the zigbee radio

After it rebooted the radio worked (but it also removed all my devices and apps, and it wanted me to start everything from fresh, i wasn't happy), so I decided to again try, since it was fresh and new to try updating to the newest 2.4... 144 firmware and sadly had no zigbee radio again.. (but all my devices and apps were back, yay)

So I again went into zigbee settings and turned it off, and again back to diagnostic tool/ advanced and reset the zigbee radio.. this time when it came back I had a zigbee radio and no issues since..

But I tried this originally as well with no luck and nothing until I rolled back to 146 and started there..

Something goofy for sure going on
