Zigbee device keeps dropping after 10 seconds

Hi, I had this problem once recently with a CT bulb by Aduro / Eria. I think it was a faulty bulb because when I replaced it with another (same type), it's now working reliably.

It just feels like it's no longer coincidence, as now I'm trying to pair a BTF Zigbee 3.0 RGBWW controller to my Hubitat. It pairs super easily, and it's in a spot between the hub and other devices so it must have a clear signal to the hub.

Between 5 and 10 seconds after it pairs with the hub, it just simply stops responding, until I pair it again and it'll work for another 5-10 secs

Oddly, as I was writing this post, it's now been working for 10 minutes without error. But it still doesn't appear below, should it?

The device is called Shelf LED Strip

Thanks

What hub revision are you using (C-4, 5, 7 or 8) and what platform version are you running?

C7, 2.3.5.117
I just updated to this version now, previous version I was using was up to 2 weeks old (it wasn't long ago since I last updated)

Oddly it now appears to be stable after making this post, and it's currently updating the firmware of the zigbee device even though I'm using the advanced RGBW zigbee driver...so I wonder what will happen there!

Well, there's a lesson learned. Update firmware was just an experiment since it kept disconnecting, and it appears to have bricked the device

Zigbee FW update should fail gracefully/fall-back unless something odd happens. I haven't had a device get bricked using the HE Zigbee FW update.

Post the logs from when you initiated the FW update - did you see log entries indicating that the FW update was in process? The hub can't update the device unless HE has received the FW update files for the device and made them available. The FW update button will be there on the Device page regardless of any FW update being available.

I don't see BTF controller or Arduro Eria bulbs listed on the HE compatible device list, so it seems unlikely that HE would have the FW update file available for those devices in that case.

correct, we do not have any files for those manufacturers.

I did make a separate thread as it looked like a separate problem but here are the details:

Even pressing the reset button does nothing (it won't connect, nor light up at all, completely dead)

Hubitat platform version:
2.3.5.117

did it work before the firmware update?

It kept disconnecting 10 seconds after pairing it with HE (the original reason for this thread).

Then it started working, I'm not sure if it was just staying connected whilst carrying out the update, or if after the 8th or so try it had decided to stay connected.

Then the update finished, and it bricked.
