Zen17 won't pair to C-8 Pro

I need some help... I have a C-8 Pro and a new Zen17 relay. My C-8 Pro is running the latest version (2.4.1.177).

I've tried Smart and manual pairing. Smart just shows pending and never changes. Manual pairing will find the Zen17 but then timeout when completing bootstrapping.

My C-8 Pro is about 4 feet from the Zen17.

In between each pairing attempt:

  • Zwave details show nothing that looks like a ghost entries.
  • I do a zwave exclude, nothing is found to exclude
  • I do a 4 click - 4 click Zen17 reset
  • reboot and power cycle C-8 Pro
  • power cycle Zen17

One other thing after a failed attempt to manually pair my C-8 Pro needs to be restarted otherwise zwave control of devices doesn't work.

When you shutdown your HE, unplug power for >30 seconds to force ZWave to restart. See if that helps.

If exclude won’t work then pairing will never work.

Are you running ZwJS gateway or legacy ZIP?

How is hub powered?

My hub is powered with the provided adapter. I've tried both legacy and js zwave.

Can you post your z-wave details page in it's entirety?

While I was capturing my details page I noticed a Zwave firmware update button. After updating my firmware I tried the pairing again (Zwave JS) and this time it worked. I see the Zen17 in my details page and also in the device page.

Sorry for the distraction and thanks to all who responded.
