Zen17 to control blinds

anyone used the 2 dry contact relay ZEN17 to control blinds? where zen17 controls the up and down using both relay. like this:

probably not much of a big deal to create a variable to keep track of where the shades are at. like if it's a 16 seconds travel for the shade to go from all up to all down, and use a zen32 button keypad to have a UP and DOWN button I can hold. and some pre-set level like 25% or 50%. so if blinds are all up, I hold DOWN for 10 seconds, so variable is at 10. then press 50%, then they need to go up for 2 seconds to be at 8 (which is 50% of 16 seconds)

anyone done it? share some tips? am I over thinking it?

thanks

At that point I would just get an iblinds v3

I say try it. Even if it doesn't work, you'll find something else to use the ZEN17 for.

One way to simplify your operation would be to go "home" before any partial operation. So, if you want the blinds open 50% you would first hold the close signal for 16 seconds and then the open signal for 8. Then you wouldn't need to track the present position with a variable. Also need to make sure that the motor won't damage the drive if it actaully closes in something like 3 seconds and then is "stalled" for the next 13.
