Z-wave slow after migration and updates

Lurking on this thread as I have similarw issues. my zwave was perfect, last software update and it's taking 2-45 seconds to respond. Running a c8 and c5 hub.
Never was clear on best pratices for muli hubs and hub mesh settings. I currently have mesh enabled and on each zwave device on both hubs I have each enabled. does this sound correct?

Only if you need to share every device between the two hubs.
You should only share what you need with Hub Mesh, not just everything by default.

Hub Mesh has nothing to do with the Z-wave Mesh.

Each hub will have its own Z-wave network ID and mesh, you cannot combine the z-wave mesh unless all devices are paired to the same hub.

more dumb questions... should I only have z wave radio turned on on 1 of my hubs? devices are listed on both hubs from migration...

So you migrated from the C5 to the C8 at some point?

Then did you wipe out and reset the C5 afterwards? Or what are you still using the C5 for?

Are the devices listed on both hubs from Hub Mesh or are the devices still listed on the z-wave details page on the C5?

Yes to migrating from c5-c8, did NOT wipte out c5 after. assumed they will share the load.
They are listed on both hubs from details page

No, not at all. Not without you actually splitting the load up between them manually. Why did you think there was some sort of automatic load sharing?

That is probably not good. Both hubs will be trying to act as primary z-wave controllers. Possibly has been causing all sorts of problems.

See end of docs: How to Migrate to a New Hub | Hubitat Documentation

If you migrated everything to the new hub and are not specifically using the old one for anything, you should shut it down and totally unplug it. Turn OFF hub mesh on the new hub.

Then let it ride like that for a few days and see if anything breaks. There is a chance some of your stuff was still running off the C5, since I have no idea what kind of mess you have made at this point.

If nothing breaks from that then you can either discard the old hub or factory reset it.
If you have any hub mesh leftover devices on the new hub those could all be removed (not sure if it will clean itself up when you disable hub mesh?)
