Z-Wave routing on battery devices

My Zooz ZSE42 Leak Sensor uses 3 hops to get to the hub (C8) at 9.6kbs. I added an 800 series Range Extender close to the sensor but whatever I do I cannot get it to route through the extender even if I leave it to do its own thing for a couple of weeks.

How do I get the leak sensor to route through the range extender?

This doesn't help, or it might, but I have 12 ZSE42 LR leak sensors. Long range communicates directly to the hub, so they're all talking direct to the hub.

Sleepy battery devices usually won't adjust their route unless it can't reach the hub when it needs to send a message. They only send messages to the hub on wakeup ~1 per day, and when it needs to send a wet/dry notification.

It shouldn't be an issue, especially with the small and infrequent data this sends. But if you did want to force it, you could power down the repeater it's talking to and trigger the sensor. It will update the route but won't show on the hub UI until the next wakeup interval.

@bcopeland : Many thanks for the reply, explains a lot. I'll try powering off the repeaters to force a reroute. If I do that, can I also force an update on the UI by manually waking up the device with four button presses?
