Z Wave Lever Lock Recommendations

I am looking for a z wave lever lock. I bought a Yale Assure and installed it and it did not work mechanically. I called customer service, and they were terrible. After reading reviews I am not sure if I want to order another one. I am a finish carpenter by trade, and we install a lot of Schlage and the Yale mechanical components just didn't seem heavy duty. I have Schlage Z wave deadbolts in my house for 3 years now and love them, but they do not make a z wave lever lock. I am using this on an outbuilding with a steel frame door prepped only for a doorknob.

Not much out there, yeah. As much as I'd rather Schlage over Kwikset... I'd look at the Kwikset 912 aka Weiser SmartCode 5.

I had a Schlage FE599 for years. I kept a C-4 hub just for that lock as I didn't know if I could pair it with a newer (C-8) hub due to the differences in the Z-Wave chip - I didn't want to risk it. With both the C-4 and the FE599 getting up age, I finally decided to bite the bullet and, after reading of the success of another Hubitat user, I bought a Schlage JFE109 Connected Lever Lock. It paired up immediately with the C-8 hub and has been working well ever since. It's a lever lock and I was able to get a similar handle style and rubbed bronze finish similar to the old FE599. The only problem, if you will, is that it's a tighter fit with the deadbolt mounted above it. It fits but it's just a bit bigger (taller) than the FE599 and so it's a tight fit.

Thanks, I am going to give the JFE109 a try. Weird that they are not listed on the Schlage website? Hopefully not discontinued.
