Z Wave Ghost? This appeared after reinstalling Garage Door opener

I have attached a screen shot of this Node after removing and reinstalling a Go Control garage door opener. I have had a lot of issues with the opener recently ...not reporting the true state and not working at all. I replaced the battery and that didn't help .

I can't seem to remove this node 23-(35) or discover

Yes, you need to get rid of that ghost.

For a battery powered device that is still in the system you may have luck if you take out the batteries when you try the "Remove" button in the zwave list. If the device replies back the remove will fail and taking out the batteries prevent that.

Thanks for the quick reply .. I have no idea what the device is ..,

It looks like it is an unsuccessful pairing of your Garage Door. If you power down the Garage Door and then hit Refresh a few times it should come up with a Remove option. After removing you could then repower your Garage Door and you should be good.

I have trouble with mine as well for a device up high the radio in it sucks. It needs to be s2 and recommend u put an extender or switch in the garage and one on wall on other side of garage towards hub.

@user1628 - in case you run into future issues like this - a ghost can result from a failed/incomplete pairing of a Z-Wave device. The ghost is usually closely followed by the actual device that caused it in the Z-Wave Details page. E.g., in your case, you try to pair the garage door opener and the pairing doesn't complete properly and the ghost device (035) is created. You try to pair it again, and the pairing is successful and the normal device (041) is created. Note the "SPECIFIC_TYPE_SECURE_BARRIER_ADDON" description in the middle column that is a clue to help you figure out what device caused it.

In the future check after failed pairing . If You see a ghost an exclude should remove it at that pt before you try to pair again.

Ok, removed power to the opener and went to the details page and clicked remove under the ghost node. Did not remove after the 1st try and did it 10 plus times…still there
Shut down the hub and removed power and repeated the process ..
the ghost node is still showing up.
Any further help would be appreciated.

If it's being that stubborn you may need a z-wave stick to remove it. While it's present things won't work right,...

Recommendations for one?

Any of them will do. I have a zooz 700. I think they 800 is available on amazon now.

Is there an actual problem you are having or just want to remove that ghosted node?

I have been having issues with some of the z wave devices responding slow or not at all

You could try doing a full repair, once that neighbor count on the dead node drops to 1 it should not be doing any damage.

Could also post the full zwave details page if you want any further help. Preferably screenshot when the hub has been running for at least 24 hours.

Unless you are just waiting for the USB stick to arrive.

Post your z-wave details page in it's entirety

Here are the details

Well you have a ghost at 0x23 that needs removed. That certainly could be contributing to your issue.

Thanks
Everything else look ok ?
And I noticed the newer Zooz 800 is cheaper than the 700
Why is that ?

Looks fine...

No clue.
