Z-Wave Dry Contact Switch?

I have a garage door opener that includes the ability to "lock" the unit such that no wired or wireless remotes will work. I'm interested in using this feature when I'm away from the house on vacation.

so they make a wall mounted switch that has a "lock" button on it - and that would work fine, but doesn't let me control the feature remotely / automatically.

they also have an "interlock" connection on the opener - that in normal installations is just jumped between two screw terminals (no power across those connections).

I would ideally like to use a Zwave dry contact switch that would allow me to install it on a wall near the garage door opener, and power with an AC outlet. AC to USB is certainly fine.

I found a Zigbee device that would work - but I'm concerned about activating my Zigbee radio. I do have 2.4G running on my access points today - and ideally would like to avoid anything running in that spectrum. I understand I can manually adjust the channel on the Hubitat to something that is less likely to interfere, but I'd ideally prefer a Zwave solution.

Thanks in advance.

A Zooz Zen16 or Zen17 should do what you want.

Ah, interesting, ty. And I saw there was a link to a power supply that I could use.

An alternate method that's quite popular is to use a smart plug to disconnect the power going to your GDO when you want to fully lock it.

Righ on, I actually wired my GDO outlet's hot though one of my Zen17's relays to accomplish the same capability. I only turn it off when we're away overnight+.

I had thought about this, but my opener has a large battery built into it and I was concerned that it might function for some time after the power is interrupted.

I started with a Zen 16. Worked good. If you have a garage with multiple doors even better. I didn't and switched to the Zen 58. A much smaller device. Single relay powered with low voltage. Zooz sells a half amp 12 vdc perfect for those. Either works if the power unit can be operated by a simple momentary contact switch.

Yeah I can see a smart plug option playing havoc with the battery's life expectancy if the GDO is left without power for long stretches of time.
