Z-Wave Devices Unresponsive

I’ve submitted this to support this morning but perhaps someone in the community knows what is going on.

This is really strange. On Friday my Z-Wave devices stopped working. First sporadically meaning a light would not coo me on when activated by motion. Now, Z-Wave devices are totally unresponsive across the network or take several minutes to respond.

I’ve repaired the network, installed the latest firmware and rebooted the hub without success. Any ideas?

I encountered this issue with increasing frequency until I stopped using the z-wave poller app.

Going to try that and I will get back to the group. Thanks for the suggestion.

You also might try powering off the hub, then powering it back on rather than just a reboot.

Running that now

Rebooting seems to have had no effect

Try a shutdown then back on.

Okay. Doing another Z-wave repair now... then will try.

Thank you all for the tips

I should note that I began the z-wave repair about an hour ago and the status says z-Wave repairing, but no logs showing any repair.

Do what @waynespringer79 and @zarthan recommended.

Shutdown. Remove power cord. Wait 30s, then power up again.

As soon as I made the post I received a log. I will let out finish then do what everyone suggested.

Did you eventually solve your problem? I'm having this strange behavior too and nothing seems to fix it. Strangely, during z-wave repair, z-wave devices respond again to commands but once done they all turn unresponsive again. Here is what I have tried so far:

  • Soft reboot
  • Hard reboot (power cord off > 30 s )
  • deactivated all custom devices / apps then reboot
  • no poll app installed

I have contacted support but so far I never got any useful info from them.

You may have to do the "soft reset" approach to clear your database of any issues.

Thank you. Forgot to mention I did that too, though, to no avail... All my lan and zigbee devices respond without a glitch, web interface is responsive too, logs show commands are created, but Z-wave devices never respond...

So it seems that the z-wave usb dongle simply needed to be reinserted properly... doesn't explain why zigbee worked though, since it's the same dongle... but everything seems to work now...

Glad to hear that everything is working OK!
Sometimes (many times) the best fixes are the simplest ones!
