Hi Guys,
Would it be okey to have a Z-wave range extender close to a Zigbee range extender, i.e. next to each other in the same double outlet, or is that a bad idea?

They use different frequencies, so it should not be an issue.
The radios in the hub are even closer to each other than these would be.
I actually have a couple of double gang switch boxes where I installed 1 zigbee and 1 wave switch to achieve the "hardwired repeater" network backbone. They work out great. A little more expensive, but you just need a couple and they serve a purpose. Best of all, the wife or kids CANNOT "accidentally" unplug them and kill or compromise the network. I avoid dedicated repeaters of any sort, since they serve only a single purpose. You can buy zigbee or wave outlet pucks and they tend to be quite cheap. Being externally powered instead of battery powered, most (if not all?) tend to be repeaters by network specification. So, the dual purpose makes them more cost effective.
Centralite used to make a zigbee plug that had a zwave repeater built in.
