Yale Assure Lock No Showing Locked in App

Hi Folks. I have been extensively researching an issue I have been having with a Yale Assure Lock YRD-226 Z-wave. Everything works great except if the lock is locked manually from the inside with the locking knob. If it is locked manually with the internal knob, it does not register in the app that the lock is locked. The lock is set-up using the generic z-wave lock. If I used the app to send the command to lock the door, it says the command was sent and if I refresh it then shows the lock is locked. This is confusing when not home if the lock is actually locked or not. Any Suggestions?

What is the part number on the green zwave module? It should be a ZW2 model would be my guess. I have a YRD256 (Assure SL) and it always reports status changes, you should never need to manually refresh it.

Have you tried putting brand new fresh batteries in? Sometimes it will stop reporting when they get weak, but still will close when commanded. They might still show 60% or more but just try a fresh set.

Hi.. Thanks for the quick response. I check the module and it is a YRMZW2. While I had it open I also changed the batteries as suggested. I also did notice looking at the events of the lock, I tested it and manually locked the lock. The events show "Front Door lock was not locked fully"..

Try locking it while the door is open to see if it will report correctly. The bolt might be binding on the strike when the door is closed and not extending fully, which puts it into a jammed state. You have to have everything lined up perfectly for a smart lock, its not as strong as a human if things bind up. Or possibly the hole is not deep enough and it is bottoming out? Did you replace an existing deadbolt or add it as new?

I replaced a Schlage smart lock with this one. With some testing, I have come to the conclusion the issues comes down to people not turning the thumb knob all the way...Thank you for all of the help!
