You have echoed the same disappointing findings about the really difficult-to-replace battery as I read in the Homekit News review:
Based on that, and also the current lack of information about the Aqara+Opple Smart Switch buttons' adherence to ZigBee 3.0 specifications, I am opting to wait to invest in a unit to see about putting together a driver (if I ever find time!)
That said, if these new switches are actually fully following ZigBee 3.0 specs, then using a generic multi-button driver may yield better luck in bringing out at least partial "normal" functionality. There's only one way to find out...
