WTF-These ain't my hubs

Not sure who Tom and Peg are, but I'd really like to know why their hubs are showing up on my network scan!

What is your ISP? I am guessing you are on cgnat sharing a public IP with other people. This has come up before. You wonโ€™t be able to connect to them, different LAN. Not totally sure how the scan finds them but I believe it only happens with cgnat.

You would be correct. I'm on Starlink. I just switched from a public IP to CGNAT because of their price increases for public IPs. (Basically I would have gone from $140/mo to $600/mo)

I have found out recently that cgnat also plays havoc with port forwarding for things like VPN's as well... At least it did for me.... I was able to switch from cgnat to a public IP that changes periodically (I'm not with starlink)

Ouch that's brutal...

Yes. I had to purchase a VPS for $7/mo with a static IP and setup Wireguard between it and my Opnsense firewall. I then port forward incoming connections to the VPS to the services on my network.

Can't wait to get fiber here, probably another 3-4 years, perhaps longer now with Trump's FCC pushing Starlink instead of Terrestrial based solutions.

You might want to have a look at Tailscale.
