Would like details of "Aqara Zigbee Water Sensor"

I have an Aqara water senser. It uses the "Aqara Zigbee Water Sensor" built in driver. I have two questions:

1. The driver has a "configuration" button. Can someone define what this button actually does for the sensor?

2. More general question. The devices page has a "Status" column. For the Aqara sensor the options are: None, Battery, Presence & Water. What is the effect of what the choice is? I can see nothing in the device pages named "Status". Is this simply the "status" in this column? or is there another use for the status option?

The devices page has a "Status" column.

It links to the Default current state selection on the Device Page > Preferences.

Configure button - what does it do?

While reading through many posts trying to sort out some new Zigbee device issues I've frequently seen advice to "hit the Configure button and Save" -- can anyone explain (or point me to docs) what that does? Thank you. Doug
